During the regional parliamentary week, the plant was visited by the First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Family, Women and Children Olga Okuneva. The parliamentarian got acquainted with the peculiarities of the production of glass containers in the workshops and the work conditions of the staff. She positively noted that there are social programs for the employees, a medical center and a canteen are working. I talked to the employees.

Glass Factory in Roslavl is the largest production company in the district,  with 750 of employees. The problem of employment, the availability of jobs is important for people living in Roslavl. The restoration of the factory has helped many people to keep their jobs and to be at home with their families.

At the glass production in Roslavl, which was still in decline a few years ago, the main equipment was modernized, production was established and economic indicators were improved. The products are sent all over Russia and actively develop exports.

Every day at the glass factory it is produced 650 thousand pieces of new products-bottles for the alcohol, food industry and jars. Such capacity is possible because of modernization which was carried out by the new management.

In 2020, 221 million pieces of different glass bottles were produced, that is 7.3% more than in 2019. Over the past year, taxes and fees were paid in the amount of more than 190 million rubles.

Nikolay Savchin, General Director of the glass-making factory in Roslavl:

"I came to the factory with two emergency furnaces. Thanks to the efforts of both the staff and the administration – and the governor, Alexey Vladimirovich Ostrovsky was involved in this issue, – one furnace was reconstructed. There are plans to reconstruct the second glass-making furnace. Significant investments are required. I hope that the administration will also help us here."

Olga Okuneva discussed with the management of the glass factory in detail the most problematic questions of the work of production lines, the results of the previous year and the future development.

Olga Okuneva, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Family, Women and Children:

"Such investment project is being implemented-this is the support of the administration of our region. And, of course, it would be preferable for working conditions to change, including the production lines. In that case the efficient production can give completely different profits, and the salary will also grow."

The start of the third glass furnace will help significantly to increase the volume of financial turnover of the factory, as well as provide new jobs.
